What is SCT?
With this method, you apply the irritating (but highly potent acne-fighting product) on the skin for a short period of time, sort of like a mask! So if you’ve ever been afraid to take the plunge with tretinoin, this method would be perfect for you.
If you’d like to check out the study behind SCT, check it out here. Believe it or not, participants who used it once a day for anywhere more than three-and-a-half minutes saw almost 70% reduction in their acne.
So, how short is short?
Anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 hours!
All you do is follow your normal cleansing routine- check out this previous post that details how to cleanse your face- then wait for your face to dry completely.
After your face is completely dry, apply a thin layer of tretinoin and wait for however long you’d like to leave the tretinoin on.
After the looong wait, rinse your face with water and continue with your normal routine- serums, moisturizers and all!
So, as if you choose to go this route, all the best and may the force be with you.
